After an hour delay due to the low morning temperature on Saturday, the weather cooperated for the rest of the tournament. It started with the Presentation of Colors by the Lathrop Junior ROTC and singing of the Star-Spangled Banner by Samantha Stark of West Valley. There were many intense matches throughout the day and Lathrop players were champions in four of the five divisions:
Boys Singles: Luke Millam (Lathrop)
Girls Singles: Helen Wharton (Lathrop)
Boys Doubles: Owen Averett and Gage Hale (Lathrop)
Girls Doubles: Hannah Knott and Tifani Hollcraft (Lathrop)
Mixed Doubles: Cole Neal and Klara Kondrak (West Valley)
Due to the forecast for reasonably sunny and unseasonably
warm afternoons this week, our Regional Team will continue to practice outdoors. They plan to use up to four courts at DRCTC from 4-6pm on weekdays this week. If you are also planning to enjoy the remaining warmth of the season, please congratulate the team as they continue to prepare to represent Region VI in the State Tournament.
